Toby Melster has been named as one of three finalists for the Aguilar School District Superintendency.Toby Melster has been in education for 30 years and within those 30 years Toby has been a classroom teacher, athletic director, assistant principal and principal, and superintendent. The majority of his career has been spent in smaller rural districts which has provided Toby a perspective on the uniqueness and challenges these types of districts face and how best to provide the education the students of such districts deserve. The foundation for Toby and being a district superintendent has been set by having classroom experience in general education and special education. These experiences have established for Toby the desire to ensure all students are educated and that education is provided with the appropriate support and resources in place. Toby has been able to secure funding for his districts in the amount of just over $6 million which has been used for capital improvements, safety upgrades, improving student achievement, athletic programs, and a solar field. This funding was awarded by working collaboratively and creatively with others and Toby's goal is to bring the same collaboration and creativity to the Aguilar district.
